Pew Research Center

As part of the Religious Landscape Study – the largest survey the Center had ever conducted, the digital team released five videos pulling out key stories from the huge research project. The videos were published in two phases with the first four-minute video, which is embedded here, releasing first and the four about three-minute videos coming out later. My intimate knowledge of the research allowed me to form themes and narratives for the videos based on our brainstorm, pitch charts and write interview questions to get to those points. During filming for all five videos, I served as the fact checker focusing on how the editorial content was coming across during the shoot. I coordinated with my colleagues and external vendors on a timeline and ensured all of the assets for the video and social media were ready for publication. I additionally published each video on our website to allow them to be promoted there. The five videos received collectively more than 68,000 views on YouTube as of January 2026.

Academic

For my senior capstone class, I worked all semester to produce a 14-minute show with my group members. For each of the four packages, I took on a different role of producing, filming, editing and reporting. When piecing our show together, I acted as the executive producer and ensured all of our media and graphics were ready. I created a director's script and rundown and met with every person in our control room to ensure everyone was on the same page. When the control room malfunctioned for us, I organized a separate reshoot gathering volunteers from the class. We used Adobe Premiere for video editing and Adobe After Effects for graphics.

As my final project for Broadcast News Reporting, my classmate Lauryn Hill and I covered the March Against Rape culture. For the project, I did the stand-up, narration and worked on half of the script. I also conducted the main interview, recorded the narration using Audacity, edited the video in Adobe Premiere and created the graphic in Adobe Illustrator.

I created this photo story with audio from a student beekeeper and the story of how she learned she was allergic to bees. I spent an hour surrounded by bees in a bee suit to get the best possible photos to tell her story. This video was created through Adobe Premiere.

The GW Hatchet

After the 2016 presidential election, students held a three-hour walkout to protest the election of Donald Trump and give a list of requests to the administration. I shot video and conducted interviews as the march went to the White House and back. Then, I edited my footage in Final Cut Pro to make the video, which later appeared on Bill O'Reilly and had 709 views within one week.

I filmed the rehearsal of an a cappella group, Sons of Pitch, on campus for three hours. I edited the video using Final Cut Pro and advanced my audio editing skills to make it flow and match the visuals of the video. This video taught me how to observe a group and creatively portray their dynamic in a video.

I got the opportunity to record several GW basketball games, including this one against Florida State which gave GW the opportunity to fight for the NIT championship. I filmed under the hoop and got creative with how to get different shots from a single location. This video was edited with Final Cut Pro.
